I've downloaded "Pokemon Online" (better than Shoddy Battle because it features Gen V moves and abilities, even though Ditto isn't allowed to use his fantastic new ability for some reason), and have been testing some new teams:

Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 64 SAtk / 192 SDef
IVs: 0 Spe
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Crunch
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam

Reuniclus (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 192 HP / 64 Def / 252 SAtk
IVs: 0 Spe
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Trick Room
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball

Bronzong @ Macho Brace
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
IVs: 0 Spe
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Trick Room
- Gyro Ball
- Earthquake
- Hypnosis

Celebi @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 232 HP / 240 SAtk / 36 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Recover

Landorus (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Haxorus (F) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake

The second best of the teams I was trying was mainly constructed to test Deoxys-S as a lead - he did very well, but the team as a whole wasn't as strong as this sandstorm/trick room effort.

I'm currently using:
Haxorus
Garchomp
Magnezone
Mamoswine
Latios
Politoed

I'd like to do competitive battling but am somewhat held back by the fact that I only remember type alignments 2 seconds after picking my Pokémon's worst move.

Yeah, that ends up being fairly important, really. You should memorise that table I've had on the site for a while, or play through a Red emulator until you get your head around it, or something like that.

Also, @Harry, I thought Garchomp was Uber?

I'm sure some of the types advantages are different on Red, also, no steel/dark.
Grab a type chart from firechao.com (look at me, I'm plugging your website on your website. yo dawg etc.) and keep it open while you battle.

You were right about 'Chomp, I need to revise the team. Best revenge killer in B/W? I want a cloyster or a dragonite.

Try scarfed Terrakion, I reckon he's pretty much king of that sort of thing if he fits in your party

I'll give it a try later. I stopped playing after that first day.
